Col. Henry G. Prout, who succeeded Mr. Westinghouse as President of the Union Switch & Signal Co., and prior to that time had been its Vice-President and General Manager for eleven years; in 1921 published "A Life of George Westinghouse" which was based not only on his own personal knowledge of his friend Westinghouse, but also an exhaustive research into all available records and personal sources of information.

This was a great read about one of the most amazing men that made this country great. I always had some limited knowledge of Mr. Westinghouse but had no idea of his depth of knowledge, leadership abilities and unmatched creativity. This book opened up my eyes to a man that always looked to solve very complex problems and never gave up no matter how difficult it was to achieve the goal. I would highly recommend this book to others however some of the pages are a little difficult and very detailed. As an engineer the technical part for me added to the depth of the story.Product details

Very dry reading. I read a biography of Westinghouse as a young person and it was much better written. Westinghouse was a great American inventor and deserves a much better telling of his life story.
Extremely long but contains a lot of details, life, and achievements of Westinghouse.

What a great mind and even more important perhaps a great gentleman. Very little of his personal life but very informative regarding his inventions and business career.
